Samsung Galaxy S9 Review

Samsung Galaxy S9 Review

Samsung Galaxy S9 packs a lovely display, great camera and a design that is still one of the best. It's also available at a much lower price now it's about to be replaced by the Galaxy S10.

Verdict

Samsung is once again likely to have one of the best Android phones of the year. But I don’t think it’s the clear winner the S8 was.

Pros

  • Fantastic display
  • Feels great
  • Much improved speakers

Cons

  • Average battery life
  • Dual-sensor only on Plus model
  • Some lag with Samsung’s software

Apex Legends: characters, trailers and news

Image credit: Electronic Arts/Respawn Entertainment EA surprised many with the  sudden announcement of Apex Legends , a new free-to-play battle royale shooter that sees the publisher going toe-to-toe with genre mammoths PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and  Fortnite Battle Royale . Advertisement Developed by Respawn Entertainment and set in the Titanfall universe, Apex Legends is a squad-based battle royale shooter where teams of three go up against 57 other players to try to gather loot and be the last person (or squad) standing. However, unlike Fortnite and PUBG, Apex Legends sees players take on one of eight classes, each represented by a unique character. (Imagine Fortnite mixed with Overwatch and you’ll be on the right track.)  Whether that sounds like your kind of gaming or not, it's clear Apex Legends is going from strength to strength. It  managed to reach a million players  in its first eight hours and it's now am...

Honor 10 Lite review

Introduction The Honor 10 Lite is the latest addition to the brand's mid-range lineup and it hopes to ride on the success of the original Honor 10. So how did Honor go about making a Lite version of a phone, which is already somewhat of a Lite version of the flagship Huawei P20? Well, for one, the feature set has been trimmed across the board starting from the chipset, going through the camera and ending with the connectivity set. But that doesn't mean this is a bad phone. The Honor 10 Lite is still an embodiment of the great value phones we've come to know the brand for. For about 30% lower price tag than the original Honor 10, the 10 Lite has the same size battery, a larger screen with a smaller notch, the memory is now expandable via a microSD slot and right from the get-go it comes out with the latest Android 9 Pie. In comparison, the Honor 10 still hasn't got an update to Pie yet. Honor 10 Lite specs: Body: 154.8 x 73.6 x 8mm, 162 grams, plastic...

Oppo RX17 Pro review

Introduction The un-flagship-y flagship from Oppo - the Oppo RX17 Pro or also known as the Oppo R17 Pro in China with the same hardware, though. A feature-rich device with a sleek design, capable hardware and rather questionable use case of the third camera on the back. However, there are quite a few things that raise the coolness factor of the handset and the in-display fingerprint is one of them. Also, it's no secret that this phone is a close relative to the OnePlus 6T but the RX17 Pro has a few unique selling features of its own too - a clear case of sibling rivalry. Don't expect any awe-inspiring sliding mechanism in Find X-esque fashion or Snapdragon 845-like performance but the 3D TOF sensor on the back of the phone has some potential that we hope Oppo will unlock with future updates because for now, the functionality is rather limited. On the other hand, the usable under-display fingerprint reader and the stupid fast SuperVOOC charging make for a less gim...
